Schmid Ranch

Wilson Mesa Telluride, Colorado

Parcels of the land were homesteaded by the Schmid Family ancestors as

early a 1882. The "Upper Place" was homesteaded in 1912. The lower parcels

were bought and added in the mid 1930's making a total of nearly 900 acres.

Goldie, Marvin and Sydney Schmid are the current owners. They recently

placed a conservation easement on the property, preventing development or

subdivision. The Schmid Family Ranch continues to operate today as a

unique working ranch.

Email us today to book the ranch for a wedding or commercial shoot.

Photographers and Commercial scouts have discovered the magnificent

beauty of the Ranch. Since a movie was filmed here in the early 1980's,

numerous advertisers including Marlboro, Budweiser, Ralph Lauren and

Neiman-Marcus have made use of the scenery. In addition, Country

Magazine, National Geographic, Sunset Magazine and John Fielder are

a few of those who have visited and photographed the Ranch's exquisite

beauty.

The Schmid Ranch has been family owned for over 100 years. Their cattle

graze on 900 acres of timothy grass, clover and other grains that are

irrigated the old fashioned way. They do not supplement or give hormones.

They also have eggs available from our free range chickens. Their growing

season is only 90 days.
